Well, was just in the process of typing my next blog, when my computer decided to freeze and start again....

Came home yesterday evening from my trip to Geneva and a daytrip to Germany. I have uploaded a selection to the "MyAviation" website. These should be online (i hope) within the next 24 hours, so have a look at the new pics later.

Thanks to Mark, Niels and Hans for the company (and a lift) on the trip to Germany and thanks to Patrick for the company on my trip to Geneva, where i celebrated my 36th birthday, watching airplanes.... Tomorrow another day off, then back to work again.

Bye for now, Chris.

A few days before i go on another "spotting-trip".
On Thursday i'll be flying to Geneva with easyJet. It will be my first flight in an easyJet Airbus A319, so i'm a bit exited.

At the airport there's an exhibition, hosted by the EBACE, of biz/corporate jets.
Thursday and friday i hope to photograph some of the departing jets.

The fun already starts tomorrow. I have been invited to go on a daytrip with some "spotter-friends". There's a soccer cup final (champions league, Porto vs Monaco) in Germany, so we'll be going to a few airports and hope to see (and photograph) some new aircraft.

Did i tell you i'm also an editor for the
' Schiphol Aviation Group ' ? Yesterday evening i had to go to a meeting and review the next edition of our magazine called "Schipholview". If you're interested in Schiphol airport movements, have a look at the website (link on the left side).

And still some people ask why i don't have a girlfriend..... 8-]

This will probably be the last blog for the next days.
Be back on sunday i think.

Bye, Chris.

A quick note: At work i got a letter, telling me i got a raise !

Great news, more money to spent... 8-]

Thats all for now. Bye, Chris.

The following post is probably more interesting for Dutch readers.
Not a surprise to see me typing the rest in Dutch.....

Even een kort stukje over twee websites die ik erg leuk vind en hierbij even in de schijnwerper wil zetten:

Schoolbank.nl
Een erg leuke internet site die je wellicht in contact brengt met oude klasgenoten ennuh, misschien meer....

Workmates.nl
Het zelfde idee als "schoolbank", maar dan toegepast op de diverse baantjes die je hebt gehad. Ontmoet dus misschien oude collega's....

Zie ook het stukje in het engels....

Bye, Chris.

=> The following will be in Dutch
=> scroll down for a post in english.

Bye, Chris.

=> ..... in english.

A new post sooner as i thought....

Wanted to share some job related news with anyone who reads this.
As you know i work at Schiphol Airport as a ramp agent.
Last monday i passed the written test and practical exam for my 'V.D.G.S.' test.

V.D.G.S. stands for : Visual Docking Guidance System.
The visual docking guidance system (VDGS) guides the pilot during the aircraft's final docking procedure (park the aircraft on it's stand at the airport).

Found a website with more detailed info: "English Airport Gate Guidance Explained"

Schiphol operates with three (four) systems:
1-Agnis Papa 2-Safegate 3a-safedock (digital) 3b-Safedock (analog)

And as of last monday, i'm autorized to work with these systems.
Quite a kick to "help" the pilot parking a Boeing 747 on stand.....

Bye, Chris.

Saturday, May 15, 2004

As you can see, i'm not a great typer (sorry).

Let me tell you more about me......

I'm an airplane spotter, making photo's of aircraft when ever i have the oportunity.
See: www.chris.fotografeert.com for more and also my other websites (sse links on the left).

At this time i work for Menzies Ground Handling as 'ramp agent' at Schiphol Airport.
As 'Ramp agent', i'm involved in unloading/loading (cargo/lugage) of aircraft.
If work permits, i'm able to take photo's airside at Schiphol. Call me lucky....

That's it for now, have a look at my online pics and enjoy....

Bye, Chris.
